Malva Pudding really is a hidden gem and I suggest if you have never tried it that you stop what you're doing and make it right away! And this isn't just ANY Malva pudding recipe, its the South African gold standard recipe first made popular by Maggie Pepler in the mid 1970s! Bobotie - Making South African Food - Passion for Food

 Bobotie, a South African classic or national dish? It depends who you ask! But either way this spicy sweet curry dish is a wonder addition to anyone's cookbook! The sweetness of the fruit is perfectly counter-balanced by the spicy curry and slight crunch of the almonds.  South African Bobotie Recipe: 2 medium onions, minced 1 ½ pounds ground beef 4 cloves garlic 1/4th cup raisons 1/4th cup almonds 2 tablespoons chutney 1 tablespoon curry powder 2 teaspoon salt ground black pepper to taste For the topping: 1 cup milk 1 large egg 1 pinch salt 2-3 bay leaf Bake @ 350 for 25 minutes. Enjoy!
