How To Get The Perfect Pita Pocket

 


Making flat bread is easy! But if you want that perfectly puffed pita pocket there a couple of key things we need to keep in mind! Those key things to get pita to puff are: moisture, the dough should be sticky, flour: the flat sides of the pita need that flour to help them become more stiffer than in inside dough, giving the steam no where to push out, and finally HEAT: we need to cook our pita bread in a SUPER HOT pan, or an oven as HOT as we can get it! I set my oven to it's max setting of 550F and pre-headed my sheet pan. Keep in mind even with perfect dough and flour and heat, sometimes a pita can get a hole in it preventing a puff, don't press to hard or damage them while flipping!
