Biltong Recipe - South African Traditional Beef Jerky - Passion for Food


Biltong is a South African classic! I spent more than a decade perfecting my biltong recipe, so I'm excited to share it with all of you! There are a few secrets to it getting it JUST right. The combination of  a quick & simple marination plus using whole coriander and toasting it ourselves gives this traditional African style of jerky is signature Biltong flavor!














Biltong Recipe - South African Traditional Beef Jerky:

  • ~4 lbs lean beef
For the Marinade:

  • 2 cups of apple cider vinigar
  • 4 cups of water
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

For the Biltong Spice:
(per 4 lbs)

  • 40 g salt
  • 40 g TOASTED course ground coriander
  • 14 g ground pepper
