These Salted Caramel Apple Pie Bars are amazingly easy to make and just crazy delicious! There are a few different steps, but the steps are all very simple and straight forward. And the best part is you can swap out the apple for any number of different fruit fillings!
Salted Caramel Apple Pie Bars - Recipe from Passion for Food
For the Shortbread Crust:
- 1/2 cup Salted butter
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup of all purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
For the Apple Filling:
- 3 Medium apples, roughly chopped
- 2 Tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 Tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 Tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
For the Streusel Topping:
- 1/2 cup Rolled oats
- 1/3 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup all purpose flour
- 1/4 cup cold butter cut into pieces
Salted Caramel Sauce:
- 2 cups of granulated sugar
- 1 cup of water
- 1 cup of heavy cream
Bake for 35-45 minutes @ 350 F
